Job Description
About the Role
Eastern Guruma is seeking an experienced Landscaping Supervisor to provide hands-on leadership and supervision of landscaping activities across an allocated project or site.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, Project Manager or Superintendent, you will be responsible for supervising the allocated site crew and ensuring landscaping and grounds maintenance works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.
This is a hands-on supervisory role requiring strong leadership, sound operational knowledge and the ability to coordinate people, plant, equipment and daily work activities while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities
As the Landscaping Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
Lead, supervise and coordinate landscaping crews across allocated project and site activities.
Plan and oversee daily landscaping and grounds maintenance works in accordance with project requirements and work schedules.
Direct and supervise onsite operations, including the deployment and effective utilisation of personnel, plant and equipment.
Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with scope, contract specifications and required standards.
Supervise landscaping activities including general gardening, grounds maintenance, mowing, brush cutting, hedge and branch trimming, weed spraying, lawn edging, raking and digging.
Ensure plant, vehicles, machinery and gardening equipment are fit for purpose and appropriately maintained.
Ensure equipment pre-starts, inspections and required documentation are completed and any faults are reported appropriately.
Maintain effective communication with Project Management, site personnel, clients and other stakeholders.
Assist with crew requirements including rosters, leave, timesheets and workforce coordination.
Participate in and facilitate relevant site meetings, toolbox meetings, safety meetings and other operational meetings as required.
Monitor progress against project schedules and communicate any issues that may impact delivery.
Support mobilisation, demobilisation and general site operational requirements.
Promote strong environmental practices, including appropriate handling and disposal of green waste.
Ensure compliance with Eastern Guruma policies, procedures, safety requirements and site standards.
Identify and report hazards, incidents, non-conformances and unsafe conditions.
Coach, mentor and support team members to maintain a safe, productive and positive working environment.
Desired Skills and Experience
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Proven experience in a Supervisor, Site Supervisor or Team Leader role.
Certificate III in Horticulture or an equivalent qualification
Demonstrated experience supervising operational crews in a mining, civil, construction, services, landscaping or similar site-based environment.
Practical knowledge and experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance and general horticultural activities.
Sound knowledge of plant, machinery, equipment and safe operating practices.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate personnel, equipment and day-to-day site activities.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with Project Managers, site personnel, clients and contractors.
Strong commitment to health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
Good organisational skills and the ability to work calmly and effectively in a changing operational environment.
A professional, reliable and proactive approach to work.
Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Ability to successfully complete and pass a full pre-employment medical.
Must be able to provide a satisfactory National Police Clearance.
Must be currently residing in Perth or willing and able to relocate to Perth, WA
Must hold a current, unrestricted WA driver's licence
Must hold a current S26 certification
Senior First Aid certification or ability to obtain.
